Waterless Manicure
Waterless pedicures boast a bevvy of benefits, including longer-lasting polish, softer skin, increased product performance and a more hygienic—and eco-friendly—service. And without bacteria-breeding tubs of water, there is no risk of cross-contamination, making it a healthy option and one involving far less exposure to chemicals.
Procedure for Professional Waterless Pedicure
Step 1: Sanitization of the feet with a waterless sanitizing spray or gel. Remove polish.
Step 2: Apply cuticle softener.
Step 3: Shorten and shape the nails, and smooth out rough areas with a clean foot file.
Step 4: Apply a scrub, softening lotion or butter to the feet. Massage the product into the feet and legs, working up to the knee.
Step 5: Wrap feet in clean, warm, moist towels. Using a warm, damp washcloth or towel, remove excess cuticle softener and the scrub or lotion.
Step 6: Apply massage lotion and massage the feet and legs.
Step 7: Clean the nails with a lint-free pad saturated with a nail cleansing product or a 70% alcohol solution. Allow the nails to dry completely and apply a base coat. Apply two coats of lacquer. Apply top coat, making sure to cap the free edges of the nails.
